Water jet cutting nozzles – for the perfect cut
High-precision ruby, sapphire and diamond ring jewels ensure outstanding cutting performance thanks to their precise bore and optimal edge rounding. At pressures up to 4,000 bar, the water is shaped into a fine jet (0.08 to 0.4 mm in diameter) which exits the nozzle at more than twice the speed of sound. The advantage here is that heat does not flow through the work piece and the material structure remains intact.
Processes with ruby nozzles, sapphire nozzles and diamond nozzles:
Pure water cutting - In this process, only water is used for cutting. This is ideal for soft materials like foam, insulation, rubber, sealing materials, paper etc.
Abrasive cutting - For harder materials, the power of the water jet is intensified with an abrasive agent like garnet sand. This makes it possible to perfectly cut steel, natural stone, ceramics, plastic, glass, carbon and lots more.
Micro cutting - For the smallest bores with a diameter of 0.05 mm, micro-cutting systems cut extremely small parts out of titanium, brass, chrome, polymers, ceramics and glass.
